Palazzo Vischi - sede storica della Cassa di Risparmio
Il palazzo, costruito appositamente come sede dell'istituto di credito, è di proporzioni massicce e solenni. Di gusto eclettico, è ispirato all'idea del decoro borghese, ingentilito dal coronamento liberty, cui corrisponde all'interno la copertura del salone in vetro e ferro. Quest' ultima, unitamente al ballatoio con balaustra traforata, alleggerisce la solennità classicheggiante proposta dal doppio ordine di archi scandito da paraste. L'edificio insiste su un'area occupata sino al 1773 dalla Chiesa e dal Convento di Sant'Agostino. Oggi accoglie la sede della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Mirandola.

Quando venne inaugurato, il palazzo rappresentava una sorta di "manifesto" della fiducia nel progresso economico della città. Le grandi superfici vetrate e l'uso del ferro erano soluzioni molto moderne per l'epoca e volevano comunicare solidità, ma anche apertura e innovazione, valori che le casse di risparmio cercavano di trasmettere ai cittadini.

The historical seat of Cassa di Risparmio
This building, specifically erected to be the seat of the bank, has a massive and solenm look. It is an example of eclecticism; it drew inspiration form the bourgeois ornament refined by its liberty coping having inside its correspondence in the glass and iron ceiling of the main hall. The ceiling together with its interwoven balcony reduces the classical solemnity of its interior, where there is a double order of arches with pilaster strips. The area where this building was erected was the side of the Church and Convent of Sant'Agostino until 1773. Today it houses the headquarters of the Cassa di Risparmio di Mirandola Foundation.

Did you know that...
When it opened, the building served as a sort of manifest of confidence in the city's economic progress. The large glass surfaces and the use of iron were very modern solutions for the time and were intended to convey solidity but also openness and innovation, values that the savings banks sought to convey to their citizens.
